Foyles Case Study
The old Waterloo ticket office is the grand location that is now home to a Foyles Bookstore, one of the most respected names in literature retail.
This project involved a delicate strip-out and fast-track fit-out, with the client keen to make full use of the original features.
The main considerations for the client on this project were the subtlety of the CCTV and Intruder Alarm, the ease of use for the staff as well as the quality of the images that would be available.
FTL proposed an 8 channel HD IP CCTV system and a Texecom wireless ‘Ricochet’ system, consisting of 6 zones.
The ABUS 1.3MP and 2MP dome cameras were chosen for a number of reasons. They offer a solution that is reliable and blends in well with the environment. As well as this, the quality of the video footage and the user friendly interface of the ABUS system meant the solution ticked all of the boxes. The ability to use Power Over Ethernet (POE) over CAT5e also enabled us to keep within time restrictions.
The Texecom system offered a subtle, reliable and hard-wearing intruder alarm system that is simple to use., primarily as the system has been commissioned to be set and unset via proximity fob.
An 8 channel ABUS IP HD CCTV system and a 6 zone Texecom ‘ricochet; wireless Intruder Alarm system.
The cameras were a mixture of 2MP and 1.3MP domes, depending on location. Varifocal adjustable lenses were recommended to ensure we could fit the cameras to the site.
Texecom’s Ricochet was chosen due to its reliability.
